“I know what the fear is.
The fear is not for what is lost.
What is lost is already in the wall.
What is lost is already behind the locked doors.
The fear is for what is still to be lost.” Joan Didion.
When Pete volunteers for the second homeowner watch committee, equipped with a state-of-the-art walkie talkie and a high viz vest he doesn’t expect to meet anyone. Not at five in the morning. Not on the remotest part of the island. But he does. He meets Jess, armed only with a small carrier bag and huge desire to be left alone. But Pete’s not having it, he has a job to do - to protect his beloved island from incomers. But what if the incomers need protection… from themselves.
A hopeful love story (of sorts) about two people finding the strength to let go of the past and look to the future.
Age Guidance: 14 +
