Call to Artists
An Tobar's Winter Open Exhibition
27 November 2021 - March 2022
Artists from Mull, Iona and Argyll are invited to submit New Work on the theme Hidden.
This year’s open exhibition will run concurrently with a dazzling exhibition of painted Bones by the pupils of Dervaig School, in the Eagle Feet Gallery. The exhibition openings will accompany an event by the Mull Youth Theatre. With this in mind and the fact that we’ve all been in lockdown, we’ve decided to use the theme Hidden for the open exhibition. The theme Hidden is open to free interpretation by the artist, here are a few possible interpretations:
Things that are under the surface.
Under sea, underground
Things you know they’re there, but you cannot see them, like bones!
Truths and Untruths
Entries are welcomed from artists and craftspeople from Mull and Iona, Argyll and Bute and previous exhibitors at An Tobar. Work in a variety of media is acceptable including painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, textiles, ceramics, jewellery, film, digital and electronic media.
Work should be delivered to An Tobar between the 16th and the 19th of November. There will be an extended period for the delivery of work. The aim is to avoid people coming in contact with each other more than necessary. The delivery days will be 17th to 23rd October. It would be helpful if artists to get in touch with me first to arrange a drop off time.
Applications to submit work should be made online if possible.
