27 Sep 2021

An Tobar and Mull Theatre are excited to announce that Mull Youth Theatre has been selected to take part in the National Theatre’s Connections 2022.

Connections is the National Theatre’s flagship youth theatre program - now in its 27th year. By commissioning ten new plays every year, the National Theatre offer a unique opportunity for youth theatres to stage new plays and perform them in leading theatres, bringing together the UK’s most exciting writers and the theatre makers of tomorrow.

Over 6,000 young people from every corner of the UK will be producing a Connections play this year and the students of Mull Youth Theatre are amongst them.

“We feel extremely proud and privileged to have been chosen to be a part of this venture.” Andi Stevens.

"Taking part in this year's NT Connections is a remarkable opportunity for Mull Youth Theatre to work with some of the most exciting playwrights around on a project with national importance. The Connections programme was a huge influence on my own development as a young theatre maker and I'm thrilled that the MYT kids will get to experience that too." Rebecca Atkinson-Lord.
