21 Aug 2020
Two brand new plays for the theatre, staged and filmed for a digital run.
Produced by Mull Theatre
Directed by Beth Morton
We are delighted to introduce Martin Low, Simon Liddell and Jess Brettle
Martin Low has worked in music, television, film and theatre. In London he worked as a producer and sound engineer, broadcast engineer, dubbing mixer and head of sound in Soho facilities houses.
Since moving to Mull, Martin has been regularly commissioned as a composer and sound designer, and has worked on more than 30 theatre productions for Mull Theatre, National Theatre of Scotland, Cumbernauld Theatre and Wildbird Productions.
Simon is a regular in the Scottish music scene, a multi-instrumentalist, forming and playing in numerous bands including Olympic Swimmers and Owl John before joining Frightened Rabbit in 2013, touring extensively and releasing via Atlantic Records. 2018 saw his first venture into theatre; collaborating with Gary McNair on McGonagall’s Chronicles, before scoring After the Cuts and Square Go at the Edinburgh Fringe, which was a Fringe First winner and nominated for a Drama Desk Award. Recent theatre work includes Henry Naylor’s Games at the Arcola, Whatever Happened to the Jaggy Nettles at the Citizens Theatre, and contributed to NTS Scenes for Survival with The Domestic and Wednesday.
Jess worked with Mull Theatre as Costume Designer on last year's production of Unspotted Snow and is delighted to be back working here again, this time in a slightly different way that reflects how we're having to make theatre in these difficult times.
Jess is a much sought after theatre designer and has worked with many Scottish theatre companies including National Theatre of Scotland, Vanishing Point, Solar Bear, and the Tron Theatre. Jess is a regular collaborator with both Beth Morton and Jamie Wardrop. Previous projects with Beth include the critically acclaimed After The Cuts with Raw Material for Edinburgh Fringe 2018, Where The Crow Flies for In Motion Theatre Co and #Unplugged for Platform Young Company, and with Jamie Wardrop on Love and Information for Solar Bear Theatre Co/RCS.
You will be able to watch our Emergence digital productions from
