Emerging Gaelic electronica duo WHYTE (Alasdair Whyte & Ross Whyte) released their debut album, Fairich as part of Sound Festival in Aberdeen in October. Each from very different musical backgrounds (ambient electronica and traditional Gaelic), their songs have drawn comparisons with Sigur Rós and Martyn Bennettt.
The collaboration began as a commission by the organisation Ceòl 's Craic to bring together artists from the fields of electronic and traditional music for a live performance.
"I was blown away by WHYTE. Hauntingly beautiful vocals immersed in sensitive layers of sympathetic electronica" Alan Woodward, Chemikal Underground Records
