Pamela Tait & Erlend Tait
Sat 15 Jul - Sat 9 Sep 2017
An Tobar Gallery
An Tobar, Tobermory
Opening Night 15 July, 6-8pm, all welcome.
Husband and wife Erlend and Pamela, will be collaborating to produce a new body of work for this exhibition at An Tobar.
Based in the Black Isle, they have long standing links with Mull and have previously exhibited work in Tobermory. Developing their practices as artists over recent years, working together and individually, Pamela and Erlend have been widely exhibited in Scotland, Germany and the USA.
Erlend Tait has worked in various media including stained-glass. Drawing inspiration from the history and mythology of his Orcadian and Scottish heritage, Erlend's work has developed a unique symbolism.
Pamela Tait grew up in rural Aberdeen-shire. Her past work focused on portraiture with flourishes of the fantastic. Over the last few years, strange creatures have been appearing more and more in her work. The point of inspiration for this concoction of the familiar and the bizarre primarily coming from trees in her local landscape.
We will be running stained-glass and drawing workshops to accompany this exhibition.
