Druimfin Writing Residency
30 Nov 2019
Writers of all genres and any level (published or not) are invited to take some creative time out at Druimfin Lodge on the beautiful Isle of Mull.
Druimfin Lodge is a welcoming cottage situated right next door to Mull Theatre and close to Tobermory. The cottage sits on the edge of Aros Park and is a peaceful spot to walk or contemplate. Sleeping six in three bedrooms, you are welcome to bring fellow writers or family.
We offer the accommodation for free in return for you running at least one workshop or event that will engage with the local community and pass your experience and skills on to others.
The residency will take place over three weeks in January; a time when the visitors have gone, the nights are longer, and the island is reclaimed by its residents. You are welcome to spend time in the theatre or at our Arts Centre, An Tobar where little public activity is happening but the staff are busy planning and preparing for the season.
Writers must be able to fund their living, transport and other costs while here. The cottage is two miles from Tobermory, and public transport is limited.
If you are interested in the residency, please submit a CV, a short (up to 1,000 words) description of how you and we would benefit from the residency and enclose samples of your writing (e.g. part of a script, a synopsis and two chapters of a novel, a short story or two poems) to email@example.com by the 30th November 2019. Our panel will consider all applications and you will be notified by mid-December.
