Mull Theatre (Comar), Tobermory are seeking to recruit a Director, for their Autumn touring production.
Mull Theatre (Comar), Tobermory, Isle of Mull are seeking to recruit a Director for their upcoming Autumn production and 10 day tour. Mull Theatre continually strives to produce an inspiring programme with the highest possible production values. As a significant part of a small production team, the successful candidate will need to show flexibility in their approach. This is a great opportunity to become part of a long-established Scottish theatre company.
Project dates, September, October 2019 including 10 day tour. To include development period prior to production.

Fee and budget to be discussed. Mull Theatre is an excellent facility, available for the rehearsal period, and there is an experienced touring team available for this production.
Responsibilities: • propose work for a new production with 2 actors • hold auditions for performers, selecting and hiring actors • attend production meetings with theatre team, technicians etc • communicate and liaise with all parties involved, including producers, actors, the creative team, and the in-house production team • rehearse and develop the production • attend preview performances and prepare detailed notes for the cast and creative and production teams • work within and control a tight budget.
The successful candidate will need to show: • an ability to express yourself both orally and in writing and to be creative, persuasive and prepared to take artistic risks;
• excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills;
• self-motivation and the ability to motivate and inspire others; • teamworking and time management skills;
• understanding of budgets and the ability to monitor and work with available budgets • awareness and understanding of technical issues, the workings of a theatre and the process of performance and acting;
• ability to develop innovative ideas and to solve problems creatively and practically; • organisational and research skills; • knowledge of the requirements of the relevant health and safety legislation and procedures; • dedication and enthusiasm.
