Chief Executive/Theatre Producer Opportunity

20 Sep 2019

Chief Executive opportunity to help us build upon our success to date.
You will utilise your leadership capability and Theatre expertise to take us even further.

Comar is the parent organisation for Mull Theatre and An Tobar, The Tobermory Arts Centre. It is one of only two organisations in Argyll who are part of the Creative Scotland network of 121 Regularly Funded Organisations (RFO).

An Tobar leads on a high quality music programme and an outstanding exhibition programme and has been a focal point for the arts on the Isle of Mull since the 90s. Mull Theatre began as Mull Little Theatre in Dervaig on Mull, dropping Little from the name when they moved into their new building outside Tobermory in 2008.

Alongside the professional theatre company, the organisation has built up an excellent community arts profile with an outstanding Youth Theatre, an adult dance company, children’s storytelling classes and other classes in music, craft and many other art forms. In particular, Mull Youth Theatre (MYT) have come to national prominence over the past year through their work with the National Theatre of Scotland.

Our work is based on Mull but involves bringing many leading musicians, artists and theatre companies here to perform as well as taking work out on tour across Scotland. The Company has made a massive contribution to cultural life on the Isle of Mull and Iona and over the years and many people have said that the work we do has been a major part in their decision to live here. Our work also adds to the range of attractions on Mull, bringing visitors here from all over the world.
As for the location; situated in the Inner Hebrides, off the West Coast of Scotland, we do believe we live in the most beautiful place in the world.

Whether you are looking for exciting activities, immersive cultural attractions, or close encounters with wildlife, Mull and Iona are full of incredible experiences.
